Zakaria Nadir

Zakaria Nadir joined the IRPP in 2023 as a research associate. As part of the Institute’s Building New Foundations for Economic Growth research project, Zakaria helped organize a workshop on industrial policy, contributing to insights and background reports. He has also contributed to economic analyses that explore the role of industrial policy in fostering sustained economic growth. As part of the Supporting Workers and Communities through Low-Carbon Transformation project, Zakaria is helping construct an interactive map of community workforce susceptibility. Zakaria is an industrial engineering graduate of the École Mohammadia d’Ingénieurs in Rabat, Morocco, and he holds a Master’s degree in economics from the University of Ottawa. He has prior experience in power-system planning and energy regulation, and knowledge of cost-effective and clean strategies to meet electricity demand.
