Peter Wallace

Peter Wallace is one of Canada’s most experienced public sector leaders, with 40 years of senior service in all three levels of government.

Key provincial roles included Ontario Deputy Minister of Energy, Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury Board, and Secretary to the Cabinet and Head of the Public Service.  Federally, Peter served as Secretary to the Treasury Board.  As City Manager, Peter also led the public service of the City of Toronto.

He is the recipient of the 2024 Vanier Medal of the Institute of Public Administration of Canada.

Peter is currently the chair-designate of the Ontario University Pension Plan.  He is also Executive in Residence for the Ivey Senior Public Sector Leader Program, an independent trustee for the University Health Network, a Senior Fellow at the C.D. Howe Institute and a Fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy.
