Vianne TimmonsRegina, Saskatchewan
Vianne Timmons has been president of the University of Regina since 2008. In this position she oversees the degree programs of more than 15,000 undergraduate and graduate students. She plays an active role in shaping the university’s strategic direction, with a strong focus on community relationships, Indigenous education and internationalization.
In the academic community as a whole, her current appointments include being a Member of the Canada Foundation for Innovation and co-chair of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council’s Advisory Committee on Equity Policy. As well, she is a member of VIA Rail Canada’s Board of Directors.
In 2017, she was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada for her longstanding work in the areas of inclusive education for people with disabilities, family literacy and women’s leadership.
