Green et Benjamin M. Sand examinent les tendances en mati\u00e8re d\u2019emploi et de salaire au cours des derni\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies afin de d\u00e9terminer si le march\u00e9 du travail canadien s\u2019est polaris\u00e9 entre travailleurs \u00e0 revenu faible et \u00e0 revenu \u00e9lev\u00e9, et si, par cons\u00e9quent, la classe moyenne a connu un recul. Ils montrent que l\u2019on a assist\u00e9 \u00e0 une polarisation des emplois dans les ann\u00e9es 1970 \u00e0 2000, marqu\u00e9e par une diminution graduelle des postes dans le secteur manufacturier, une augmentation des emplois de gestionnaires et de professionnels, et une hausse constante de l\u2019in\u00e9galit\u00e9 salariale. Green<\/strong> est professeur \u00e0 la Vancouver School of Economics de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de la Colombie-Britannique, chercheur associ\u00e9 de l\u2019Institut de recherche en politiques publiques, et chercheur international associ\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019Institute for Fiscal Studies de Londres. Ses recherches sont consacr\u00e9es aux d\u00e9terminants de la structure de salaire et d\u2019emploi. Dans ses r\u00e9cents travaux, il \u00e9tablit des liens entre les questions micro- et macro\u00e9conomiques (effets g\u00e9n\u00e9raux de l\u2019\u00e9quilibre) de la d\u00e9termination de la main-d\u2019oeuvre.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benjamin M. Sand<\/strong> est professeur adjoint en \u00e9conomie \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 York depuis 2011. Il \u00e9tait auparavant professeur adjoint \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9cole de commerce de Copenhague. Ses recherches sont consacr\u00e9es principalement \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9conomie du travail,y compris les d\u00e9terminants des structures de salaire, d\u2019emploi, de profession et d\u2019in\u00e9galit\u00e9.
