So why are they so often overlooked in\u00a0our poverty reduction plans? And what does this\u00a0diverse\u00a0group\u00a0of Canadians\u00a0require\u00a0to support them in moving out of poverty?<\/p>\n<p>Today on the podcast, we cover all that and more\u00a0as we discuss a\u00a0recent IRPP report: <a href=\"https:\/\/irpp.org\/research-studies\/canadas-forgotten-poor-putting-singles-living-in-deep-poverty-on-the-policy-radar\/\">Canada\u2019s Forgotten Poor? Putting Singles Living in Deep Poverty on the Policy Radar<\/a>.\u00a0We\u2019re joined first by Colin Busby,\u00a0 a research director at the IRPP. He walks us through this inaugural report from his\u00a0new program on <a href=\"https:\/\/irpp.org\/research\/the-social-safety-net-for-working-age-adults\/\">The Social Safety Net for Working-Age Adults<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On the second half of the podcast, Sherri\u00a0Torjman\u00a0joins us to share some policy recommendations\u00a0from her commentary on that report.\u00a0Sherri is a social policy consultant and policy associate with the Maytree Foundation.
