Montreal – The Institute for Research on Public Policy congratulates Timothy Caulfield on winning a 2017 Digital Publishing Award for his work in the IRPP’s magazine Policy Options.
Produced by the National Media Awards Foundation, the Digital Publishing Awards promote and reward the achievements of those who create digital publishing content in Canada. Jennifer Ditchburn, editor-in-chief of Policy Options, accepted the gold medal awarded for “Best Blog or Column” on Caulfield’s behalf at a ceremony on Thursday, June 1, in Toronto.
Ditchburn was also a finalist in the “Best Blog or Column” category at the awards. These were the first nominations for Policy Options, which transitioned to an entirely digital platform in the fall of 2015.
“Congratulations to Timothy Caulfield and the whole team behind Policy Options. We are delighted by this recognition of their work,” said IRPP President Graham Fox.
Timothy Caulfield holds the Canada Research Chair in Health Law and Policy, and he is a law professor at the University of Alberta. The author of the influential book Is Gwyneth Paltrow Wrong about Everything? When Celebrity Culture and Science Clash, he is an important international voice in support of science and evidence in health policy. His column takes a skeptic’s eye to the pseudo-scientific health and medicine trends that proliferate in our society today.
