William Watson

William Watson is a research fellow at the Institute for Research on Public Policy. In this capacity, he advises the IRPP on its research activities pertaining to the Competitiveness, Productivity and Economic Growth research program. He is an associate professor in the Department of Economics at McGill University, where he served as chair from 2005 to 2010. Before joining the IRPP to edit its flagship magazine Policy Options (1998-2002), he was the editorial page editor of the Ottawa Citizen while on leave from McGill University. He writes on economics and other issues for the National Post weekly and for the Ottawa Citizen fortnightly.
